Alexis
Orthodontic Assistant
I started my journey as an orthodontic assistant the summer of 2019. My main duties are assisting chair side, sterilization, office contests, social media and decorating the office. My favorite part of my job is seeing a patient’s smile transform into something better than it was before. I enjoy working for Dr. Doug because no two days are ever the same, & and my coworkers are the best 2nd family. I love the work atmosphere here! I had the opportunity to undergo treatment with our Envision Aligners shortly after I started, and I was amazed at the change I saw in just six short months!
I’ve lived in Northwestern PA my whole life. I have two horses and a Corgi named Reba. Outside of work, I stay busy barrel racing, crafting with my Cricut, riding in the buddy seat of the tractor with my boyfriend, & making memories on the farm.
Alyssa
Financial Coordinator
I started my dental experience in a general practice as an assistant. I went to Dr. Doug for my second round of braces and fell in love with the caring staff and up to date equipment. They offered me a job and I couldn’t turn it down. Here, I am the financial/insurance coordinator. I will answer any questions you have and try to make sure your experience here was as good as mine when I was a patient. I also help with lab work and assist when needed.
It is amazing to watch those shy patients that didn’t want to smile show their smile more and more. End of treatment patients become more proud with their smile; and their overall confidence is out of this world. We do so much more here than just move teeth! I am so fortunate to have played a part in the process of helping patients achieve their perfect smile.
I am from a small town where I was lucky enough to meet my husband. We are blessed with a home that has 20 acres which is perfect for my twin daughters, Adeline and Aspen, plus our 4 dogs; Sir Ruger Booger, Rossi Cool Posse Mae, Roadie Macaroni, and Reign Don’t Drop the Beat. I love to travel, spend time outdoors, and relax with my girls and husband.
Ashlynn
Orthodontic Assistant & Lab Technician
I started working for Dr. Smith in the fall of 2018. Prior to working here, I worked for a general dentist for over 5 years. I was a patient of Dr. Smith’s before I became an employee. I love the atmosphere at Dr. Smith’s and decided to transition from general dentistry to the orthodontic field. I mainly do the lab work and assist when needed.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my son, Carter and my best friend Alyssa. I also enjoy many outdoor activities, and play card and board games.
Ashley
New Patient Coordinator, Orthodontic Assistant, & Lab Technician
I began my orthodontic career in 2009 and have been with Dr. Smith ever since. I love working with people! Dr. Smith changed my life when I was a patient in his office by improving my smile. I always want to make our patients feel as comfortable and they made me feel! Here at Dr. Smith’s, I am the New Patient Coordinator. I’m the smiling face who will be taking your new patient records; and working hand in hand with Brenda, our Treatment Coordinator. It doesn’t feel like a job. I get to do something I LOVE with people I LOVE!
When I’m not helping Dr. Smith created beautiful smiles and funny office videos, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our three dogs, studying God’s holy word, golfing, playing basketball, or fishing.
Brenda
Treatment Coordinator
After earning my Associate Degree of Applied Science in Dental Technology, I worked as a lab technician and a dental assistant for several years before starting with Dr. Smith in 2015. As the Treatment Coordinator, I present the doctor’s treatment plan and the financial options to the parent and patient. I enjoy seeing the changes in a person’s smile, and self-confidence as we improve their smile.
I currently live in Cambridge Springs with my husband Greg, our daughter Cassidy, and Bentley, our family dog. I enjoy laughing with my family and friends, camping, and gardening.
Deb
Office Manager
I graduated from Clarion University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Accounting. Doug and I started the practice in 1993. We were both happy to return to the area where we grew up. It was nice to come home to family and friends. Here at the office, I am the behind-the-scenes person. I take care of the day-to-day operations as well as the accounting, employee management, and marketing. We take great pride in creating beautiful smiles and making our patients and their families feel like they are part of our family. We are truly blessed with an amazing staff.
In my off-work time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, trips to Disney, traveling, and skiing. Doug and I have been married since 1987 and we have two grown up sons, Zack and Derek. We enjoy spending time with them whenever we can.
Emma
Orthodontic Assistant
I always loved to come visit my Aunt Rebecca and Dr. Doug at the office when I was little, so in September of 2019 I decided to job shadow here. I loved the environment, and I started working in August of 2020. I love talking with patients and helping them achieve the most beautiful smiles.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy singing at church, hanging out with friends and family, and spending time with God.
Heather
Orthodontic Assistant
I started working with Dr. Smith in August of 2007, after completing a dental assisting program at Great Lakes Institute of Technology. However, my first experience in the office was when I was a patient! I had a great time here and became more confident about myself, and I wanted to help others have that same feeling. As an assistant, my main duties are clinical assisting, sterilization, taking new patient radiographs, photographs and 3D scans. I also help organize our social media, ordering supplies, and patient contests.
I am happily married to my husband Richard. We had our first daughter Leah in April 2015 and our second daughter Bryn in April 2018. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, playing outside with my daughters, and shopping.
Maddie
Orthodontic Assistant
I had the pleasure of joining Dr. Smith’s office about a year ago, and I couldn’t be more grateful to be a part of this hardworking team. This clinic provides such a creative and collaborative space where we can directly work with our patients, which is the best part of the job! I love getting to know patients and building quality relationships with my peers and the community.
I’m a strong supporter of the arts and have been heavily involved in music and theater for most of my life. You may have even seen me perform right across the street at the Academy Theater where I’ve been involved in numerous productions. I also love to travel, cook, and learn about cultures around the world.
Rebecca
Registered Dental Hygienist & Orthodontic Assistant
I first started working with Dr. Doug over 20 years ago! After 7 years, my love of dentistry prompted me to continue my education and become a Registered Dental Hygienist. I recently moved back to the area and rejoined Dr. Doug, Dr. Dana, and the team; which honestly feels more like family.
We believe that people are of utmost importance; and while we are creating beautiful smiles, it is my goal to make sure each patient that sits in my chair knows how valuable their life is. I am thankful to work in an office that allows me to take the time to be a listening ear for someone who needs to be heard. Increasing self-confidence is accomplished here by compassion, encouragement, and of course, orthodontics! When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, crafting, metal detecting, fishing, and being outside.
Shannon
Front Desk
I am the smiling face that greets you at the front desk! My job entails scheduling, answering the phone, and making sure I give our patients and their families the best experience when they are here. I started as a patient and this office always made me feel like family. I get to work some of the best people especially my two best friends Alyssa and Ashlynn. When I’m not working, I enjoy hiking, concerts, and anything outdoors.
