Meet the Doctor
Dr. Douglas N. Smith, DMD, MDS
I love what I do. Perhaps it sounds cliche, but it’s true. Orthodontics is an incredibly rewarding career. It has allowed me to express my creativity, as I craft treatment plans to meet each specific patient’s needs, making a real difference in patient’s lives. Of course, it’s impossible to change someone else’s life without changing yours as well. My wonderful patients make me a better person every day.
I pride myself on energy, work ethic, and knowledge of biomechanics. Over the years, I’ve fine-tuned our processes to make sure your experience is as effective and efficient as possible.
When I’m not at work, you’ll find me spending time with my wife, Deb, and our sons, Zack and Derek. I like to spend summer days on the patio listening to music or in my garage woodshop. Winter is for snowboarding, and during football season, you can always find me cheering for the Green Bay Packers.
Education
Bachelors of Science, University of Pittsburgh

Orthodontic Assistant
I started my journey with Dr. Doug as an orthodontic assistant the summer of 2019. My main duties are assisting chair side, sterilization, marketing, and office contests. My favorite part of my job is watching a patient's smile transform & their confidence grow as it changes. I enjoy working for Dr. Doug because no two days are ever the same, & and my coworkers are the best 2nd family. I love the atmosphere at Dr. Doug’s.
My husband Travis & I reside on the family farm where we raise crops. We have two horses & a blue heeler named Millie. Travis & I have been married since October of 2023 and are expecting a baby boy in October of 2024.

Financial Coordinator
I started my dental experience in a general practice as an assistant. I went to Dr. Doug for my second round of braces and fell in love with the caring staff and up to date equipment. They offered me a job and I couldn't turn it down. Here, I am the financial/insurance coordinator.
I will answer any questions you have and try to make sure your experience here was as good as mine when I was a patient. I also help with lab work and assist when needed. It is amazing to watch those shy patients that didn't want to smile show their smile more and more. End of treatment patients become more proud with their smile; and their overall confidence is out of this world. We do so much more here than just move teeth! I am so fortunate to have played a part in the process of helping patients achieve their perfect smile.

Lab Technician
I started working for Dr. Doug in the fall of 2018. Prior to working here, I worked for a general dentist for over 5 years. I was a patient of Dr. Doug’s before I became an employee. I love the atmosphere at Dr. Doug’s and decided to transition from general dentistry to the orthodontic field. I mainly do the lab work and assist when needed.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our boys, and our dogs. We also enjoy spending time with our family & doing many outdoor activities.

New Patient Coordinator, Orthodontic Assistant, & Lab Technician
I began my orthodontic career with Dr. Doug in 2009. When I was a child, Dr. Doug transformed my smile, which in turn, transformed my life! The day I had my braces removed was the day I knew I wanted to help people, of every age, feel as confident with their smile as I did. It was life changing! At Dr. Doug’s, I am the New Patient Coordinator. I am the smiling face who will be helping Dr. Doug at your initial appointment. I work hand in hand with Brenda, our Treatment Coordinator, to take your new patient records. I love what I do and enjoy working with patients and their families to create beautiful smiles that will last a lifetime!
I am also an associate minister at United Faith Fellowship Church of God where she has been assisting her Pastor since 2018 by preaching, teaching, and fellowshipping with the Meadville and surrounding areas.
In my spare time, I love to spend time with my husband and our three dogs. I am an avid golfer, I play a lot of basketball, love to hunt, and tend to our garden!

Treatment Coordinator
After earning my Associate Degree of Applied Science in Dental Technology, I worked as a lab technician and a dental assistant for several years before starting with Dr. Doug in 2015. As the Treatment Coordinator, I present the doctor’s treatment plan and the financial options to the parent and patient. I enjoy seeing the changes in a person’s smile, and self-confidence as we improve their smile.
I currently live in Cambridge Springs with my husband Greg, our daughter Cassidy, and Bentley, our family dog. I enjoy laughing with my family and friends, camping, and gardening.

Deb
Office Manager
I graduated from Clarion University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Accounting. Doug and I started the practice in 1993. We were both happy to return to the area where we grew up. It was nice to come home to family and friends. Here at the office, I am the behind-the-scenes person. I take care of the day-to-day operations as well as the accounting, employee management, and marketing. We take great pride in creating beautiful smiles and making our patients and their families feel like they are part of our family. We are truly blessed with an amazing staff.
In my off-work time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, trips to Disney, traveling, and skiing. Doug and I have been married since 1987 and we have two grown up sons, Zack and Derek. We welcomed Tao, our beautiful daughter-in-law, to our family, along with our grand-dog, Sage, in 2024. We enjoy spending time with them whenever we can.

Orthodontic Assistant
I started my dental assisting journey after completing the Great Lakes Institute of Technology program in 2020. I then worked at a general practice for two years. However I knew my love was for orthodontics and made the switch to work for Dr. Doug in June of 2022. I was a patient of Dr. Doug’s when I was a teenager and always loved the welcoming environment when I came in for appointments. It was rewarding to see my own progress throughout the time I was in treatment at Dr. Doug’s. I love that I get to play a role in our patient’s confidence at the end of their treatment now as well!
When I’m not at work, you can catch me reading, enjoying time with family and friends, fishing with my boyfriend Wade, or playing fetch with our pup, Dexter.

Orthodontic Assistant
I started working with Dr. Doug in August of 2007, after completing a dental assisting program at Great Lakes Institute of Technology. However, my first experience in the office was when I was a patient! I had a great time here and became more confident about myself, and I wanted to help others have that same feeling. As an assistant, my main duties are clinical assisting, sterilization, taking new patient radiographs, photographs and 3D scans. I also help organize our social media, ordering supplies, and patient contests.
I am happily married to my husband Richard. We had our first daughter Leah in April 2015 and our second daughter Bryn in April 2018. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, playing outside with my daughters, and shopping.

Orthodontic Assistant
I first started working with Dr. Doug almost 25 years ago! Seven years later, my love of dentistry prompted me to continue my education and become a Registered Dental Hygienist. In 2019, I moved back to the area and rejoined Dr. Doug and the team; who honestly feel more like family.
While we are creating beautiful smiles, it is my goal to make sure each patient that sits in my chair knows that their life is highly valuable and that they were created for a purpose. I am thankful to work in an office that allows me to be a listening ear for someone who needs to be heard. Increasing self-confidence is accomplished here by compassion, encouragement, and of course, orthodontics!
I have four precious kiddos who make life fun when I’m not at work, and I love spending time with family and friends. I also enjoy crafting, metal detecting, singing, and being outside.

I am the smiling face that greets you at the front desk! My job entails scheduling, answering the phone, and making sure I give our patients and their families the best experience when they are here. I started as a patient and this office always made me feel like family. I get to work with some of the best people, especially my two best friends Alyssa and Ashlynn. When I'm not working, I enjoy hiking, concerts, and anything outdoors.

I started my dental journey in January of 2020. I attended Temple Dental Assistant School in Temple, Texas and completed my 12 week program to become a Registered Dental Assistant. I then joined a practice in Texas where I fell in love with orthodontics. I started at Dr. Doug Smith's office in the spring of 2024 as a clinical assistant. I’ve really enjoyed working with everyone, they all share a love for helping to create beautiful smiles and we have fun while doing it!
I was born and raised in Cochranton, Pa. After graduating high school I moved to central Texas. I married my high school sweetheart, Blake, and we had our first son, Holston. After 4 years in Texas we moved back to Meadville, bought our first home and welcomed our daughter, Layton. I’ve enjoyed being a stay at home mom for 2 years but I’m excited to slowly return back to the orthodontic field!
